Thank you everyone who came to the event!

Have you, do you, or do you want to foster dogs? Do you volunteer or work for a rescue organization? Then this is your event! Do you know others involved or interested in fostering? Share and invite them as well!

People who foster and rescue dogs are cut from a very special fabric. They have the ability to love and let go for the good of another soul. They open their hearts (and maybe their homes and their families) to help a dog in need. So many wonderful dogs go through foster, shelter and rescue programs. This will be a day to say thank you, to get together and share stories and to connect with others cut from that same special fabric.

WHEN: Sunday November 5th from 2-5pm
WHERE: Barrel House Z - 95 Woodrock Rd, East Weymouth, MA 02189
WHO: Anyone who has, is or would like to foster dogs,
& anyone who volunteers or works with a dog shelter or rescue
HOW TO SHARE:
https://www.facebook.com/events/1219572561522907  (or share this webpage)

A ticket will allow you to claim your  "schWag Bag", a gift bag of donated items, services and discounts from local businesses, the value of which  continues to grow on an almost daily basis. The goal is for attendees to walk away with more than they entered with.... emotionally and physically. Keep an eye on the facebook event page for announcements about who has donated.

"SchWag Bag" TICKETS:  Only $1  but must be purchased in advance to guarantee you receive yours (click the "buy now" button below)

WHAT TO BRING:
  • Photos of current or past fosters
  • Any dog-related equipment you are not currently using that someone else might be able to use
  • Do you have an especially interesting, funny or touching foster story to tell? We will do a  "foster story jam" if we get enough interest.  I would especially love if any of the folks who have recently traveled to hurricane-affected regions would be willing to share their rescue stories. Send an email to caninestrategies@gmail.com if this is something you are interested in.
  • Friends who might be interested in fostering  or volunteering in the future
  • Do you like to cook or bake? BHZ allows us to bring in food.

WHAT ELSE TO KNOW:
  • Barrel House Z is kid-friendly but not dog-friendly.
  • Fresser's Delicatessen has generously donated small sandwiches and snacks to the event! in addition, Mangia Food Truck will be on site.
  • This is the Patriots bye week so you don't need to worry about missing the game.
  • Is this a charity event? Nope. Just a party for the benefit of the dog community.
  • There will be giveaways (not raffles). In addition to the schWag Bags, there are a number of one-off donations for attendees. Once you have purchased your ticket ($1), the only money you will need is for your bar tab or if you want something from the food truck.

If you know of local business who may be interested in donating goods or services to the schWag Bag, please have them email caninestrategies@gmail.com . (These don't have to be dog-related gifts: they are for the people!)
